Curriculum Week of February 11-15

What an exciting week we have planned.

Math - We will be starting a unit called Twos, Fives and Tens. In this unit, your child will focus on counting by 2's, 5's and 10's to 100. This unit will also develop ideas about grouping objects and odd and even.

Reading/ Language Arts: This week we will be reading a story called " Tell Me A Story" by Alma Flora Ada. The story is about a grandmother sharing stories of when she was young and growing up. Your child will be compareing their life now to the past. This would be a great time for you to share some stories with your child about what life was like when you were in school.

Social Studies: In conjuction with President's Day and the story we are reading this week, we will be studying about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Your child will be visiting virtual museums during a web quest to learn about their lives. Check out the weblinks I have posted to visit these websites.
